Bliss* Video Productions

Our newest video clip is from Bliss* Video Productions. This creative, cinematic video incorporates super 8mm film along with the standard digital video. Kristen* is the owner and the artist force behind Bliss*. Her company is in demand around the world from Italy to Mexico and places in between.

This wedding video is one of my favorites hosted on her Vimeo account. It is a lot of fun!


What or who inspires your wedding productions?
Without sounding cliche..... the films we produce at Bliss* are inspired by our couples. Because I only book a handful of weddings it's important that I really connect with my clients so that I can really tap into their vibe and reflect that in the final product.

What drew you to wedding and event video production?
Wedding video's found me. I needed a job in film school and it was something I really enjoyed doing. I moved to Hollywood to work in Feature film and after a while needed to supplement my income and decided weddings would be something that would continue my skill set as a filmmaker but be 'fun and easy'. A year later with 50 weddings on the books I came to the realization that though shooting and editing weddings was often very fun, it was far from easy.

What's do you enjoy the most about being a wedding and event cinematographer?
I love observing people and my job enables that. The emotion is real, and shooting non-actors (or actors as themselves) can be incredibly thrilling. The challenge of weddings to get gorgeous shots on the fly and capture special, almost secret moments for your client when even they don't know that you got it, that is incredibly rewarding.

What advice would you like to give brides and grooms about their wedding?
Live the moment. Forget all the drama around you and just be. Oh, and of course, hire someone to capture you doing that!

Would you care to share any details about the video clip we are sharing on the blog.
With this video, I really wanted something that showcased the duality of this wedding and the couple. They both work in film and the groom is a documentary director, the bride an actress and their wedding was movingly beautiful but also so fun and had so much personality. We created this 'trailer' as an appetizer for the full wedding film.
